How Remotie protects candidates and partners.
This page explains the mechanics behind how Remotie protects candidates and hiring partners: how identity is checked, who can access what, how money moves, and what has to happen before an application advances to its next stage.

Separate protections for candidates and for hiring partners.
Candidates and hiring partners are trusting Remotie with different things. Below is what protects each.
What protects you
Identity verification is human-reviewed
A person on our team reviews your submission, rather than an automated system deciding pass or fail.
Skills submissions are never scored
It's a demonstration step for partners to review, not a pass/fail gate. Submitting it completes the step, regardless of content.
Your wallet is a transparent ledger
The moment you request a withdrawal, that amount moves out of your available balance immediately, ahead of approval. Your balance always reflects an accurate, current total.
No upfront fees, ever
There are no fees to apply, get matched, or get verified. Remotie never asks a candidate to pay for placement.
What protects your req
Recruiter access is scoped by permission
By default, a recruiter only sees the candidates assigned to them. Reviewing verifications, sending emails, managing withdrawals, and creating jobs each require a separate permission enabled for that staff member individually.
Every application re-verifies before it advances
A prior verification does not remain valid indefinitely. Each application requires its own current identity check before it can move to the next pipeline stage.
No self-service recruiter or admin signups
There is no public sign-up form for recruiters or admins. Every such account is created directly by Remotie, a deliberate control against fraud.
You review real submissions from candidates
Skills demonstrations reach you exactly as submitted. They are not filtered or rejected by an automated scoring model before you review them.
Two separate verification checks.
Identity verification on Remotie consists of two distinct flows that share the same capture pattern but run at different times, for different reasons.
Onboarding self-service verification
A one-time check completed when you first join Remotie. You submit your identity documents, a human reviewer checks them, and approval confirms your identity before any recruiter presents you to a partner.
- Candidate-initiated, done once during onboarding
- Gates onboarding itself — you move through onboarding steps in order
- Reviewed by a human, not scored by a model
Per-application, recruiter-triggered re-verification
At any point in a specific application's pipeline, your recruiter can trigger a fresh identity check for that application, sent to you through Telegram. It uses the same capture pattern as onboarding, but applies to that one placement, which can't move to its next stage until the check is approved.
- Recruiter-initiated, can happen more than once
- Scoped to one application — approval doesn't carry over to a different job
- Hard-gates that application's next pipeline stage until approved
Both flows are reviewed by a person on our team, rather than decided automatically.
